I've known Deborah since 1991, when our paths crossed at the old Buffalo Ranch, a facility in the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone. Deborah was co-teaching a class with Dorothy Hinshaw Patent on creative writing in nature. Deborah was a shot of writer's adrenalin to my life and I've been fortunate to visit with her often over the years both in person at her home and workshops, as well as via phone and email. I own a print of her watercolor Just Traveling Through and it echoes my views on several levels. Deborah, among other accomplishments, illustrated the beautiful book Garden of the Spirit Bear.
